3 sought for questioning in security guard's shooting death

HOUSTON – Police said they are looking for three people of interest in last year’s shooting death of a security guard in southwest Houston.

The shooting was reported about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at the intersection of Lansdale and Concourse drives.

Houston police said James Bowman, 73, was sitting in a vehicle when two men walked up to the vehicle and attacked him, and when Bowman tried to fight back, he was shot in the stomach.

Two men and a woman were seen walking toward the scene about 10 minutes before the shooting, police said.

Investigators said they believe that the two men are Daniel Terrazas and Kevin Rios, and the woman is Xochitl “Swisha” Rangel. They said they want to speak to the trio and determine their involvement in the case.

Police said the three have not been charged in connection with Bowman’s death, but Rios is wanted on a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in an unrelated case.
