3 injured near SE Houston park in drive-by shooting, police say

HOUSTON – Three people were injured in a drive-by shooting Sunday night, including an innocent bystander, near a southeast Houston park, police said

The shooting was reported at 6:59 p.m. at Sunnyside Park in the 8000 block of Scott Street.  

Police said the two shooting victims drove a couple of blocks down the street to a Texaco gas station on the corner of Belfort and Scott to get help. When they went inside the gas station, police said the vehicle drove by and started shooting again.  

One of the stray bullets went through the door of the gas station, through a wall and struck the gas station restaurant’s cook in the chest.
