3 masked, armed men seen on camera attempting to break into Heights home

HOUSTON – Houston police are asking for the public's help identifying three men who attempted to break in to a home in the Heights in December.

On Dec. 28, around 3 a.m., three armed men approached a home in the 1300 block of 24th Street, police said. The men were seen on surveillance video.

The men attempted to kick in the door, but something scared them away before they were able to make it inside. There was at least one person inside, police said.

One of the attempted burglars is described as a man about 25 to 30 years old who was wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a black mask. He was holding an AK-47, police said.

Another one of the attempted burglars is described as a man about 25-30 years old, wearing black pants, a gray hoodie and a black mask. Police said he had a handgun and a flashlight.

The other man seen on camera is described as about 25 to 30 years old, wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a black mask.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging or arrest of the men in this case.
