Third fire at same town homes since last month

HOUSTON – Firefighters were called to a fire Saturday night at the West Village Road Town Homes in northeast Houston, the same community where drugs were found earlier this week following a fire.

The town homes are located at Hamill and West Village Road.

The cause of the latest fire is still being determined. Eastex firefighters said it started in the bedroom of a town house only three doors down from where they found narcotics earlier this week.

While the cause of that previous fire has not been released, three town homes were damaged by flames Wednesday night.

Eastex firefighters discovered $3 million worth of drugs in one of the three units. They found heroin, meth, and fentanyl while putting out the flames.

Last month, three units were also destroyed by fire when flames broke out Oct.14.
