Man found shot to death in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A man was found shot to death Monday in southwest Houston.

The shooting was reported about 8:45 a.m. near the corner of Kinghurst Street and Wilcrest Drive.

Detectives at the scene said it appears someone shot into the passenger side of a vehicle parked behind a strip mall, killing the driver of the car. The driver collapsed just outside the driver's side door.

Surveillance video shows the man's vehicle being drivne behind the office park, which was being closely followed by a dark minivan.

At least three possible suspects were seen running from the minivan to the victim's vehicle and back again, police said. In that brief, two-minute span, the victim was killed, police said.

“It looked like the victim's car ...  pulled up and then immediately, another car pulled up behind him. You could tell there was more than one person outside the car running but we don’t know how many at this point,” said Ken Fregia, a detective at the Houston Police Department.

The identity of the victim was not released.

Police are asking that anyone who recognizes the gunmen's vehicle call the Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
