Motorcycle officer injured in crash in northeast Houston

HOUSTON – A motorcycle police officer was injured in a collision with a truck Monday in northeast Houston, authorities said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash happened around 9:50 a.m. on the 610 North Loop at Kirkpatrick Boulevard.

The HPD said a Roman Forest police officer was escorting an oversized load on a motorcycle when the crash happened.

The officer involved was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Preliminary information showed that the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the HPD.

Images from Sky2 showed the officer’s motorcycle wedged under a green Chevy truck.

At least two lanes are closed as investigators and crews work to clear the scene.
