3.1 magnitude earthquake rattles area near San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – A magnitude 3.1 earthquake shook an area Tuesday near San Antonio.

The quake was reported about 5:52 a.m. northwest of Smiley in Gonzales County, about 60 miles southeast of San Antonio.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake was about 3 miles deep and was felt as far away as Driftwood and Leon Valley.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
