6 juveniles in custody after burglary attempt leads to lockdowns at Katy-area schools, sheriff says

KATY, Texas – Six juveniles are in custody after a nearby residential burglary attempt, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

The juveniles reportedly targeted a home in the 19200 block of Sandleford Drive in west Harris County, according to the sheriff's office. The homeowner said the juveniles kicked in the front door and fled to the back of the house when law enforcement officers arrived.

The juveniles then ran to the baseball fields of Cypress Lakes High School, and the high school and nearby McFee Elementary School were placed on lockdown.
