HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after authorities said she was weaving in traffic, according to Harris County investigators.
Constable Alan Rosen said Noraelia Galindo was driving while intoxicated with her young daughter in the vehicle in the 11700 block of Highway 249. Officials said the child was about 3 or 4 years old. The girl was released to a family member.
At one point, officials said Galindo drove into and out of a ditch.
When deputies attempted to pull her over, she fled for about a half-mile, officials said.
When authorities approached her vehicle, she showed obvious signs of intoxication and refused to exit the vehicle, according to deputies. Deputies were forced to extract her, officials said.
Inside the vehicle, deputies said they found a small amount of marijuana and Xanax.
Authorities said Galindo was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and evading arrest, both felonies.
She was arrested in a parking lot near the intersection of U.S. 249 and Antoine Drive around 2 p.m.
