HOUSTON – A woman was shot while officers were serving a warrant in southeast Houston.
The incident happened shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday in the 7700 block of Greenstone.
According to Houston police, officers were assisting federal agents in serving a federal warrant to a suspect when the officers told the woman to put her dog inside the house.
Police said the dog charged an officer, who opened fire.
The woman was hit in the arm and was taken to an area hospital.
The dog is still alive.
The suspect is in custody.
No other details were released.
HPD officers are on the scene of a shooting at 7711 Greenstone where an officer has discharged their weapon while serving a warrant. A female was struck and is being transported to an area hospital. Further information will be provided at the scene.
