HOUSTON – A driver was killed Tuesday in a rollover crash in southwest Houston.

The crash was reported at 4:25 a.m. on Fondren Road at Beltway 8.

Houston police said two vehicles were involved in the crash, and someone was trapped in one of the vehicles.

Police said the driver of a blue Hyundai Santa Fe was eastbound when a gray Dodge Durango ran a red light while traveling northbound on Fondren Road. Police said the Hyundai struck the Dodge, causing it to overturn.

A video showed that one of the vehicles flipped and landed on the passenger’s side.

Police said the 45-year-old driver of the Dodge died at the scene.
