Photo released of man accused in 7-year-old boy's shooting

KATY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff's Office needs the public's help in finding a suspect in a shooting that left a 7-year-old boy wounded.

The suspect is identified as 19-year-old Omarion Philip Bailey. Investigators said he shot into a car driven by an 18-year-old man accompanied by his younger brothers, ages 6 and 7. 

The 7-year-old child is in good condition after being shot in the back Saturday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Office.


The shooting was reported around 2 p.m. in the 20000 block of Little Bighorn Drive near Gray Hawk Lane in west Harris County. Investigators said Bailey was driving a late model Dodge Stratos. The car carrying the children was a Cadillac Escalade.

The child was taken to a hospital by Life Flight, where he underwent surgery. Gonzalez said the child will pull through and is expected to survive.

Neighbors said following the shooting they spotted a white Escalade with a blown-out window taking off. Neighbors reportedly heard shots fired around 2 p.m.

Police are still investigating what led to the shooting.
