HOUSTON – A man ordered a sandwich before robbing a Subway in northwest Houston on Oct. 20, police said.

The robbery was caught on camera when the man walked into the restaurant at 4:40 p.m. in the 5200 block of Hollister Street. Houston police said he walked up to the sandwich bar and ordered, then told the employee to give him the money from the cash register and not to alert the customers inside.

As the robber was leaving with the money, the employee's boyfriend attempted to stop him, but was unable to catch him on foot, police said.

Houston police and Crime Stoppers are hoping the surveillance video will help lead to the man's arrest.

The man is described as black, 21 to 25 years old, between 165 and 180 pounds, and 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. Police said he had a dark complexion and wore a white shirt and red pants.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
