Deputy constables deliver several dozen Thanksgiving dinners to families

SPRING, Texas – Deputy constables from Harris County Precinct 4 delivered several dozen Thanksgiving dinners to families in their area.

They have been doing this for many years for a program they call "Operation Turkey Dinner."

Constable Mark Herman said the deputies know their neighborhoods and know the families in need during the holidays.

"Harvey was a tremendous impact out here, but a lot of these people out here don’t have the resources to have good Thanksgivings and good Christmas’. As good stewards for our community, we want to do this to give back," Herman said.

Not only do the families receive the gesture well, but the deputies enjoy making the deliveries, according to Herman.

"Our deputies' hearts are bigger than their badges when it comes to things like this," Herman said.
