Sugar Land police looking for man suspected of stealing $25,000 motorcycle

SUGAR LAND – The Sugar Land Police Department is looking for a man captured on video stealing a Harley-Davidson motorcycle valued at $25,000.

It happened on Oct. 27 in a parking lot outside a Dick's Sporting Goods in the 16500 block of Southwest Freeway.

Surveillance video shows a man entering the store early that evening around 7:20 p.m., possibly with three others, police said.

Seven minutes later, the video shows the same man walking directly to a black 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and driving away from the parking lot, according to police.

Sugar Land police said the owner had the key fob and keys, and when he walked out to the parking lot to leave, his motorcycle was gone.

The motorcycle had a personalized Dallas Cowboys license plate that reads HERSH.

The suspect is described as heavyset, either white or Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, with facial hair and a tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing a gray shirt, red shorts and black slip-on sandals the night of the theft.

Anyone with information on this stolen motorcycle case is urged to call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281)275-2540 or the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281)342-TIPS (8477).
