Prop A passes, keeping ReBuild Houston funding in place

HOUSTON – Proposition A passes after voters decided to keep the funding for the city’s street and drainage program in place.

The city’s drainage fee was passed by City Council several years ago and voters approved a measure in 2010 that stated the money could only be used for street and drainage projects via a program called ReBuild Houston. In 2015, the state Supreme Court said that the language on the ballot wasn’t clear that voters would be funding that initiative.

Prop A being voted on Tuesday clarified the language and will keep the money collected from the drainage fee funneled to the ReBuild Houston program.
