Man shoots boyfriend in face at senior living center, police say

HOUSTON – A man is in the hospital after an argument with his boyfriend ended in a shooting, police said.

According to authorities, the shooting happened around 2:24 a.m. Monday at a senior living center near Antoine Drive and De Soto Street after the two got in an argument and one of the men opened fire.

The shooting started inside an apartment, and made its way outside to the common area of the complex, police said.

Officers said there were multiple shots fired, one of which hit the victim in the face. He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

According to police, the boyfriend was taken into custody on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. He is cooperating with police.

Police said though there is no definitive reason for the argument, they believe the two could have been in the middle of a breakup.
