HOUSTON – A man was killed Saturday morning when his vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer in northeast Houston, police said.
The crash was reported at 12:50 a.m. in the 10000 block of Beaumont Highway.
Houston police said an 18-wheeler came to a stop after he ran out of fuel. Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer managed to pull over, but part of the trailer was still sticking out into the moving northbound lane.
Police said a 47-year-old man driving a back Ford F-150 northbound did not see the end of the trailer and crashed into it. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No charges have been filed. The crash is under investigation.
