ONLY ON 2: Brother relives moment man stole his car with sister still inside

RICHMOND, Texas – A brother and sister in Fort Bend County are shaken up after their morning ride to work turned into a carjacking.

The brother told KPRC2 reporter Brittany Jeffers they were near an intersection when he saw a man with a backpack in the road around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

“There was a guy in the middle of the street,” the man told KPRC2. “He tapped my car. I didn’t think anything of it so I stopped at the light, then all of the sudden I heard a smash on my rear window.”

The man said that the stranger busted out his window with a club. When he got out of the driver’s seat to check it out, the man with the backpack stole the vehicle with his sister still inside.

“All of the sudden he took off and I couldn’t stop him,” the brother said.

The woman jumped from the moving vehicle less than a mile away. She is home from the hospital but the two want to see the carjacker taken into custody.

“She broke her tooth,” said the brother. “(She has) lots of scrapes, her face is all messed up. She has eight stitches. We just came from the hospital.”

According to police, the carjacker ditched the vehicle near FM 1464 and West Oak Village Drive in Mission Bend.

The police had a perimeter set up in a nearby neighborhood in an attempt to catch the man, but have since lifted it police said.

There is still no word on whether the man has been found.
