'Cricket World' TV host killed in crash with stalled big rig on 59 Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON – Khurram Ibrahim was the host of "Cricket World," a TV series on TV One.

Atif Zamir, his friend, says Ibrahim was like a brother. “It’s difficult to express how his family is feeling. It’s just so shocking.  His friends are in bad shape and we can’t even begin to talk about how his family is feeling,” Zamir said.

Ibrahim died Tuesday afternoon after crashing his BMW into the back of a stalled tractor-trailer on the Southwest Freeway. The car went under the 18-wheeler, killing Ibrahim. It happened just before 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Harwin, causing a major backup that took police a few hours to clear.

TV One USA paid tribute to Ibrahim on its Facebook page, posting, “You will be missed brother.”

Zamir says Ibrahim was a very loving person and his heart breaks for his dear friend’s family.

“Please pray for the family and his children,” Zamir said.  Ibrahim’s family is making funeral arrangements. The service is scheduled for this Friday at Mosque Sabreen.

We loved him a lot but God loved him more.... We are saddened to announce the sudden demise of our friend and Cricket...
