"Our goal during this time is to insure (sic) that students feel safe and teaching and learning continue uninterrupted," Kimberly Hobbs, principal of The Rice School, said in a letter to parents.

On Oct. 12, Hobbs sent out the letter, explaining the school is taking action on the claims of an employee’s conduct. The employee has been taken away from student contact pending the investigation.

HISD says the investigation is still ongoing and officials will continue to inform parents of its status.

"The safety of our students is always our top priority," HISD said in a media statement.

HISD is working along with authorities to resolve the case.
