Truck crashes into vacant, flooded home after chase in Meyerland

HOUSTON – A chase ended with a stolen truck crashing into a vacant house in southwest Houston early Friday morning, according to police.

Police said the chase started when the plates on a truck came back as stolen.

The truck slammed into a vacant, flooded home near the intersection of Braesheather Drive and Contour Place, causing significant damage to the house.

After the crash, one of the truck's occupants was taken into custody, but the other passenger eluded police and was able to get away on foot.

It is not clear if anyone will be facing charges.
