Restaurant Report Card: Local favorites make Houston Health Department's naughty list

HOUSTON – KPRC's Bill Spencer makes his weekly rounds to restaurants in town to make sure they are keeping up to the health standards in Houston.

Here are the violations:

New Today Bida - 12709 Beechnut

Violation: “Food not safe for human consumption” found, in this case, several foods stored off-temperature. Ham, cheese and chicken all stored above safe temperatures.  Food stored between 55 and 60 degrees, all food ordered thrown away.

Alpha Bakery And Deli - 11209 Bellaire Boulevard

Violation: Inspectors found live roaches on the wall of the kitchen and rodent droppings on the floor of the kitchen and in the storage area.

Tuong Ky Fast Food - 8200 Wilcrest Drive

Violation: Inspectors discovered rodent droppings/rodent waste by the dishwashing machine.  

El Real Tex-Mex - 1201 Westheimer

Violation: Inspectors found 15 to 20 cockroaches, in all stages of life, in the storage area. They also discovered flys in the electricity room.

Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood - 4611 Montrose Boulevard

Violation: Discovered live roaches, in all stages of life, in multiple locations: In the storage area, in the mop sink area, near the dishwashing machine and in the happy hour bar area.
