15 dogs die in northeast Houston house fire

Fifteen dogs died early Saturday after a house fire in northeast Houston.

Thirteen puppies and two adult dogs died in a house fire Saturday.

The fire started at an apartment above a large detached garage on Banyan and Senna streets.

The homeowner said a cigarette sparked the flames and the dogs didn't escape.

No one else was hurt in the fire.

The homeowner said he will bury the dogs later Saturday morning.
