BAYTOWN, Texas – Two Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District students were arrested Thursday after a pair of lockdowns at two schools.
Goose Creek Memorial High School was briefly locked down after a threat was made via social media, according to a post on the district's Facebook page. Officials said a student was later taken into custody and that no weapons were involved.
Also on Thursday, an eighth-grader at Gentry Junior School was arrested after a gun was found on campus, according to officials. The school was locked down as a precaution, officials said.
"Several students reported that a fellow classmate was in possession of a handgun," a post on the district's Facebook page read. "An assistant principal confiscated the gun and the student was arrested."
No injuries were reported in either incident, officials said.
