HOUSTON – A woman is dead and a man was injured in a stabbing at a northeast Harris County home, deputies said.
The stabbing was reported around 8 p.m. in the 6100 block of East Sam Houston Parkway.

Harris County deputies said the woman, identified by officials as Sofia Martinez, died at the scene and the man was critically injured. It is unknown what led to the stabbing.
Investigators said Martinez and the man, identified by officials as Feliz Ruiz, were common-law married for 10 years and had six children together.
Investigators said the man stabbed the woman and then himself while the children were at the apartment.
Ruiz suffered a self-inflicted stab wound to his throat but was still breathing when officials arrived, they said.
He has been charged with murder and is being held without bond.
