Man accused of crime spree arrested in Hempstead, police say

WALLER, Texas – A man accused of knocking down a woman and stealing her car in Waller County has been arrested, police said. 

The man, identified as Kevin Neil Parker, began his crime spree earlier this week in San Antonio where he was staying at a rehabilitation facility. Police said he cut off his ankle monitor, stole a vehicle and drove to Hempstead, where he stole another person's car.

Police said Parker drove to Prairie View and then to Waller, where his family lives. 

He was last seen on FM 362 north in Waller County, police said.

Police tracked Parker down to two gas stations, and one of the people who gave him a ride told police Parker said he was headed back to Hempstead.

Hempstead police were contacted, and they located Parker a few minutes later.
