Cy-Fair ISD officer recovering after 2-vehicle crash in Tomball

TOMBALL, Texas – A Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District police officer is recovering Sunday after being injured a two-vehicle crash in Tomball, police said.

The incident was reported around 12:45 p.m. Saturday neat 400 East Main St.

Police said the officer was in his vehicle working a funeral procession as an extra job when another vehicle failed to yield the right of way and the officer struck it.

Police said he was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition Saturday, but the next day they said his injuries were non-life threatening. 

No arrests have been made.

Cy-Fair ISD released the statement below on Sunday:

"CFISD Police Officer Marvin Harris is recovering after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries that required surgery following an accident in Tomball on June 30. Thank you to the Tomball Police Department, Northwest EMS, Life Flight and Memorial Hermann Medical Center for the care they showed to our officer.
