HOUSTON – A man died Friday after police said he broke into an apartment in southwest Houston and got into a fight with people who were inside.
Investigators said the man was armed with a broken bottle when he broke into the apartment near the intersection of Clarewood and Ranchester drives just after midnight Saturday. Police said he attempted to rob the people who were inside.

Three men in the apartment started fighting him in an attempt to get the bottle out of his hand, police said.
The suspect then fell and hit his head, according to authorities.
Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other men suffered minor injuries.
A grand jury will determine if charges are warranted.
