False alarm at Santa Fe Jack in the Box restaurant; no bomb detected, police say
SANTA FE, Texas – All clear was given after a false alarm about a geocache mistaken as an ammo box at a Jack in the Box restaurant on Highway 6.
Police said the reports came in at 12:15 p.m. about a metal box. A Santa Fe Police Department bomb dog did not alert on it, police said.
Investigators believed the box to be empty but sent a bomb robot from Texas City Police Department to arrive to ensure everyone's safety.
Investigators said there was no bomb detected and was confirmed to be a geocache.
