2 injured in southeast Houston shooting


HOUSTON – Two men were injured Monday during a shooting in front of a southeast Houston home.

The shooting was reported about 7:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of Southwind Street.

Houston police said the victims were standing in front of a home on Southwind Street when some people walked up to them and began shooting. Both victims ran from the scene and were later found on nearby Van Fleet Street, police said.

One of the victims was shot in the leg and the other injured his leg while fleeing, police said. Both were taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The gunmen were last seen leaving the scene in a silver SUV, police said.
