Officers asked Orlando Gross to stop his vehicle and get out, but as an officer approached the vehicle, Gross drove away with the officer clinging to the vehicle, according to police.

The officer was dragged a short distance, but was uninjured, authorities said.

Gross led officers on a short chase that ended in a driveway in the 7600 block of Lady Street, according to authorities.

A K-9 unit helped take Gross into custody, police said.

Gross is facing charges of aggravated assault on a public servant and evading arrest.
