Investigators said Frank Moaning, 75,  was assaulting a woman outside the store when Tamaurick Hickmon, 22, stopped them.

According to police, surveillance video showed Moaning leaving the store, then coming back moments later with a shotgun. Police said Moaning shot Hickmon in the back as Hickmon tired to run away.

Moaning then left the scene, police said.

Hickmon was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The woman also left the scene, police said.

Moaning later returned to the store and turned himself in to police.

He is charged with murder in the death of Hickmon.
