HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County authorities were involved in a chase with a vehicle in the northwest part of the county on Wednesday.

WATCH: Driver arrested after police chase in NW Harris County

Authorities said the 29-year-old driver of the vehicle, identified as Daniel Castillo, refused to stop when deputies attempted to pull it over near the intersection of Highway 6 and Spencer Road.

The chase lasted about 20 minutes.

"All this happened right as I left. As I was leaving my house is when all this happened," Kimberly Scoggins, who witnessed part of the chase, said.

During the chase, the driver led authorities through neighborhoods in the area.

The vehicle finally pulled into a driveway and the driver got out of the vehicle. He was quickly taken into custody.

Authorities said the driver was a burglary suspect.

During the chase, deputies said speeds reached nearly 60 mph and the suspect tossed what are believed to be stolen items, including a checkbook, out of the SUV.

"At first, we didn't know where he was going. A lot of circles happening all over. He went down Barker three times, back on Windsong, back on West Little York and then came to this neighborhood (where the chase ended) twice," Thomas Gilliland, of the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said. "We can't say enough about our patrol deputies and DPS on how the pursuit went. Having the major intersections blocked off and actually having light traffic helped out a lot today."

No injuries were reported during the chase.

Castillo was charged with evading and two counts of burglary of a vehicle. He was being held in jail on $8,000 bond.
