Dramatic video: Police confront murder suspect in stunning shootout

SAN FRANCISCO – Some tense moments for San Francisco police officers as they recently confronted a murder suspect hiding inside a recreational vehicle.

Joel Armstrong, 31, is a suspect in a murder and carjacking that happened on Feb. 16. Just after midnight the next day, police tracked Armstrong to a parked RV. As officers approached, Armstrong fired twice from inside.

Police body cam video of the incident was just released. In all, the seven officers fired off about 65 shots.

Nobody was hit.

Armstrong came out of the RV about two hours later, uninjured.

Police did find a gun inside, and Armstrong was placed under arrest.

He's now facing multiple charges.
