Here is the letter sent to parents from the school:

"Today, a student was arrested on a charge filed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office related to a statement about shooting up a class.

"We investigate every safety concern, and the investigation determined that there was no weapon. When we deal with these kinds of situations, we work in partnership with police for the protection of students, staff and families.

"Please continue to emphasize with your children that they should not joke or try to impress others by making threats. Sadly, this is the second time this week that authorities have had to become involved due to a student’s threatening statement. Inappropriate statements bring consequences.

"I am proud that students, staff, and parents report concerns to us, Humble ISD Police (281-641-7900), or through the Humble ISD iHELP app, and appreciate the way in which we all work together to keep students safe."
