2 arrested in connection with Uber driver robbery in NE Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Two men have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon after an Uber driver was robbed at gunpoint in northeast Harris County on Valentine's Day. The incident was recorded on camera.

Around 12:50 a.m., a 51-year-old Uber driver had dropped off a fare in the 17700 block of Timber Forest Drive, near Eagle Springs Parkway, according to authorities.

According to court documents, the driver was stopped at a stop sign when a black GMC Yukon Denali pulled in front of the driver and blocked her from leaving.

The woman told investigators two men -- one of them armed -- got out of the SUV, approached her vehicle and demanded money and valuables.

The men, later identified as 18-year-old Tyler Hood and 19-year-old James Romine, forced her door open and grabbed her purse, authorities said.
