Shelter-in-place order at CE King High School lifted after social media threat

The message went on to say that the school was ordered to shelter in place while a  compliance check was conducted and police investigated the threat.

The district assured parents that students were safe and the person responsible would be punished to the fullest extent.

The shelter order was lifted at 10:20 a.m., officials said.

This is the latest in a rash of threats leveled at Houston-area schools since the Valentine's Day shooting that killed 17 people at a Parkland, Florida, school.
