Girl Scout goes viral with Childish Gambino cookie jingle

DULUTH, Ga. – When cookie season hits, many Girl Scouts stand outside a local store or maybe go door-to-door to rack up the thin mint sales. But one scout is in high demand, and she never even left the back seat of her father’s car.

Some might call it marketing genius, or chalk her success up to the fact that she’s so darn cute, but when Charity Joy turned a chart-topping Childish Gambino song into a cookies sales pitch, her Facebook post took off.

Nodding her head to the beat and snapping her pint-sized fingers to the tune of "Redbone," the Duluth, Georgia Scout sings, “Thin mints/ You want to order some before it’s too late,” as she holds a box of the treats for the camera. “We’ve also got trefoils and they taste great.”

Shortly into the jingle, "Daddy Mo" chimes in, “Somoas/ Are coconut cookies with caramel/ You want to get them now because they’re going to sell."

Parody video finally made. Time to sell some cookies 🍪 *i don’t own the rights to this songs* #DonaldGlover #ChildishGambino #StayWoke #GirlScouts #Share #CarryOn #BuySomeCookies or #DonateTheCookies #GoalsMet #WeStillMovingCookies

The Facebook post has been viewed nearly 2 million times and counting.

It’s unclear if Charity Joy and "Daddy Mo" will win any Grammys for their viral performance, but we’re sure she must be in the running for a cookie badge.
