Investigators said a man was walking near an area convenience store when a car drove by and fired at him.

He was struck in the stomach and leg and was taken to an area hospital in serious, but stable condition, police said.

James Dyer, a neighbor, said he was home when the shooting happened. He told KPRC 2 that he was hanging out with his daughter when he heard the gun shots. He got up and went to his living room to see what happened when he saw people running and heard glass break.

He took his daughter into the bathroom to hide and called 911.

He said his bedroom window had been shot at and a bullet hole was visible.
