Girl Scout cookies donated to local first responders, members of military

HOUSTON – It's a sweet reward for those who gave so much during and after Hurricane Harvey.

On Friday, local Girl Scouts donated some of the first cases of Girl Scout cookies to first responders and members of the military.

It's part of Cookies 4 Heroes, a way for the San Jacinto Girl Scout chapter to say thanks to the men and women who risked it all to help victims of Harvey.

Organizers said the gesture is part of their mission in the community.

The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council covers 26 counties across Texas. The group donated more than 10,000 cases of cookies as a show of appreciation.
