Will a Prince hologram perform with Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl LII halftime?
HOUSTON – Speculations and rumors are being laid to rest if a Prince hologram will be performing with Justin Timberlake during halftime at Super Bowl 52.
It's been confirmed Janet Jackson and NSYNC won't be joining the stage with Timberlake. But in a press conference, Timberlake said there are, " a few things with this halftime show that they've never quite done before."
So who's joining the stage?
Sunday's game will be held in Minneapolis, Prince's hometown, and will mark the anniversary of Prince's 2007 Super Bowl performance, which many recalled as the best Super Bowl halftime ever.
But speculations were shot down after Prince's family confirmed on Twitter that there will NOT be a Prince hologram.
Sheila E., known as Prince's drummer, also took to Twitter and said before Prince died, he told her to never let them make a hologram of him.
Prince told me don’t ever let anyone do a hologram of me. Not cool if this happens! https://t.co/khtCjXr2mY— SheilaEdrummer (@SheilaEdrummer) February 3, 2018
In a press conference, Timberlake admitted that Prince's legacy was a big influence on him.
"In my opinion, the greatest all-around musician in popular culture," Timberlake said. "The time I got to spend around him, with him, talking about music. Those are memories that I'll take with me forever."
Even though a Prince hologram may not take the stage, his spirit still lives in Minneapolis as several murals are placed throughout the city.
