Babysitter accused of hitting 5-year-old girl with phone charger cord, broom

HOUSTON – A 30-year-old Houston woman is facing charges after authorities said she injured a 5-year-old child while she was working as a babysitter late last year.

Adasha Mitchell is charged with injury to a child.

Court records indicate Mitchell was working as a babysitter for several weeks in November and December at a residence in the 15600 block of the Gulf Freeway.

The 5-year-old girl told authorities that Mitchell hit her with a phone charger cord and a broom.

The abuse caused the girl to have bruises on her arms, legs, chest, back, face and neck, according to court records.
