Deputy Justin Gay receives Purple Heart from Constable's Office

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputy Justin Gay received the Purple Heart award, which is the highest award given by the Harris County Constable's Office.

Gay received the award last weekend as a part of the department's 26th annual award banquet.

Gay was shot seven times while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

He is still confined to a wheelchair and will soon start rehabilitation to learn how to walk again.

Several other Precinct 4 employees were recognized for their heroism in 2017.
