Two people are recovering Saturday morning after the wet, slick roads played a part in a single-vehicle crash, Houston police said.
The crash happened just after midnight near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Shepherd Drive.
A pickup truck carrying three people was traveling westbound on Washington Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle in the rain and wet road, sliding sideways and slamming head-on into a wood power pole, Houston police said.
The impact knocked down power lines, Houston police said.
The driver was not hurt but the two passengers were transported to the hospital in stable condition, Houston police said.
Alcohol was not a factor in this crash, Houston police said.
