Boy's bed discovered in closet during meth bust in Katy area

HARRIS COUNTY – The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office made a heartbreaking discovery during a drug bust in West Harris County. Deputies found a 4-year-old boy living in filthy conditions.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, deputies received a tip about an alleged meth dealer working out of a rented home in the Katy area in the West Memorial Subdivision. After getting a warrant, undercover investigators searched the home and found meth and marijuana inside.

The accused drug dealer was not home, but a 4-year-old boy was there with a woman who is not his mother. 

The deputies discovered that the child's bed was inside a tiny closet. They said there was drugs and sex paraphernalia just feet from where he slept. 

The boy's mother was found and arrested on two outstanding warrants. Precinct 5 deputies said the Harris County District Attorney's Office would be charging the mother with endangering a child. 

The accused meth dealer deputies were looking for has not been found. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. 

Child Protective Services took the boy to the hospital to be checked out. The agency is now looking to see if the boy has any other relatives.
