Students react to Texas A&M's new head coach

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – In Aggie Lane, football is king, so when the news dropped that Jimbo Fisher would take over the throne at Kyle Field, the 12th Man had something to say.

“I’m excited for change. Obviously this season isn’t what we all wanted,” said Bobby Credeur, from Houston, who is a freshman at Texas A&M University.

Five days ago, the university fired former head coach Kevin Sumlin, who coached the Aggies for more than six seasons with a 51-26 record.

Rumors were swirling around that Florida State University head coach Jimbo Fisher would take over the regime and the news was confirmed Friday afternoon.

"If he can pick up this team and do well and perform at a national level, that would be awesome. I would love that so much,” said Thomas Snyder, a freshman at A&M

Only time will tell, but Aggie fans are hopeful Fisher is the ingredient needed to whip up up a national championship.
