6 worst times for Thanksgiving weekend travel

HOUSTON – Travel can be a headache anytime of the year, but when it is one of the busiest times for travel, it can be extra stressful.

Waze, a traffic and navigation app, analyzed data from its 90 million active users last November, and came up with a prediction for this year.

According to the data, here’s the worst times to travel during the Thanksgiving weekend:

  • Tuesday between 4 and 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday between 3 and 5 p.m.
  • Thanksgiving Day between noon and 2 p.m.
  • Friday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Saturday between 2 and 5 p.m.
  • Sunday between 4 and 6 p.m.

The Click2Houston app and Click2Houston.com also gives drivers the ability to check road conditions and real-time traffic patterns. Download the app by searching “KPRC” in your app store or go to click2houston.com/traffic.

Of course, the weather can make traveling even more tricky. Check the radar and the forecast before starting your trip at click2houston.com/weather.
