HOUSTON – A shocking theft was caught on camera.
The Houston Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a purse snatcher in newly released video by the department.
It happened at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 9 at 3355 West Alabama St. in Houston.
A woman was walking to her car when a man drove by and jumped out of his vehicle to steal her purse. As she tried to run after the him, she fell on her face behind the man's vehicle.
The man nearly ran the victim over as he backed up his car, but then hge placed the car in drive and fled the scene.
The man's vehicle is described as a dark-colored 2005 to 2009 Honda Accord. He is described as a black male, wearing a dark blue shirt and dark blue pants.
