BELLAIRE, Texas – The city of Houston was alive with Astros fever Thursday morning after a big win over the Dodgers Wednesday in Game 2 of the World Series, and fans are showing their pride.
The city is really feeling the Astros energy. The team's colors shined bright on the bridges over Highway 59.
Many fans showed their Houston Astros pride after a big win over the Dodgers Wednesday in Game 2.
"It's about time, and I think the city really needed this," Astros fan Joe Garbo said.
Garbo and his family have been cheering for the Astros through the entire season. They've had lawn decorations up for weeks. This week, the words "Astros time" danced across their front lawn.
"Every other car beeps. I've had semis shake my house. My room is in the back of the house, so it wakes me up every time," he said. "It gets a little much, but it's really gratifying to see how many Astros fans there are."
Garbo said this is "Houston's year" for so many reasons. He said the Astros are really showing the city, especially in Game 2 of the World Series, how to overcome adversity and how to never give up and win under pressure.
"I think this will give and uplift what we had before (sic), where we're going and what we needed," Garbo said.
Garbo and his family is just one example of how the city is showing its spirit.
Fans all over the city have signs like Garbo's.
